How to grow in vocation

How to grow in vocation

If you reached this section of our website you are probably in the stage of discernment and want to find the way of growing in your vocation. At this stage of your life there is a danger of being perpetual discerner so, please don’t just discern your vocation but be not afraid of growing to make a final decision to enter religious life.

Here are just a few practical suggestions how to grow in your vocation in order to make a final decision.

  • adorations of the Blessed Sacrament (silent prayer)
  • personal vocational prayers – asking God for direction
  • spiritual reading (Bible, life of the saints, spiritual diaries, etc.)
  • find a spiritual director/confessor who can guide you
  • contact one of our Salvatorian Priests/Brothers or Vocational Directors
  • participate in Salvatorian “come and see” or “open community” days

Remember, you’ll never discover your vocation in your own head. Stop over-thinking it! Follow the example of our Blessed Mother. When God calls, answer. After you answer, ponder. While you ponder it follow Him wherever He leads you. Be at peace. Abandon yourself to God’s will. Make a choice and live it.
